Semester 1: Foundations & Office Tools
The first semester focuses on making the student "computer literate" and proficient in essential workplace software.
- Fundamentals of Computers: History of computers, hardware vs. software, input/output devices, and storage units.
- Operating Systems: Introduction to Windows and GUI (Graphical User Interface), and basic command-line interfaces like MS-DOS.
- MS Office Suite (Basic to Intermediate):
- MS Word: Document creation, formatting, and mail merge.
- MS Excel: Spreadsheets, basic formulas, and data visualization.
- MS PowerPoint: Creating professional presentations.
- Internet & E-Commerce: Understanding web browsers, email etiquette, search engines, and the basics of online transactions.
Semester 2: Programming & Database Management
The second semester shifts toward technical skills, including logic building and managing data.
- Database Management Systems (DBMS): Introduction to MS Access or MySQL. Learning how to create tables, queries, and simple databases.

- Programming in C or Visual Basic: * Introduction to logic, variables, and loops.
- Writing basic programs to solve mathematical problems.
